There’s something very natural feeling about flying in a hot air balloon. There are no loud noises, no obtrusive electronics, it’s just you and a very large (but quiet) balloon.

For this and many other reasons hot air balloon flights make a great gift, whether you want to share the special experience with a lovely someone or want to take the intrepid adventure on your own, it will be a once in a lifetime experience. Here are some tips for making the most of your balloon rides:

Remember to take your camera. It’s not a pre-requisite for having fun however you can get some amazing pictures and enshrine the memories forever. There’s nothing like the bird’s eye view of the UK you get from a hot air balloon, so make sure you make the most of it.

Whilst a few accessories like your camera are a good thing to take along with you, you should avoid taking any bulkier items along with, as these can get in the way a little. Another point about your camera and you should remember to wear a wrist strap, for obvious reasons!

You may be invited to help out with the balloon inflation which can be a very exciting experience in its own right, and you’ll get a sense of the immense scale of hot air balloons. Bear in mind that this can be fairly hard work and you should dress accordingly for this kind of thing.
